SAGE3

The Smart Amplified Group Environment

SAGE3—the Smart Amplified Group Environment—is a shared workspace for teams working with complex, data-rich problems. It combines large visual canvases, computational notebooks, data science, and AI in a flexible collaborative environment.

A spatial interface for collective thought

Scientific work rarely fits inside a sequence of slides or a single notebook. SAGE3 lets teams arrange evidence, visualizations, code, notes, and live applications across a persistent two-dimensional space. That spatial context helps collaborators see relationships, preserve the history of an investigation, and reason together.

SAIL’s contribution

Our work focuses on scalable architecture, AI-assisted collaboration, and the integration of data science into the environment. The project builds on two decades of translational research in wide-band display systems and collaborative scientific software.
