Part of the Aloha Intelligence Initiative
I am part of the Aloha Intelligence Initiative (Aii), which UH Mānoa’s Department of Information and Computer Sciences unveiled to showcase and strengthen Hawaiʻi’s role in responsible, ethical AI.
Aii brings research, education, and community partnerships together in one place. Its interactive site gathers dozens of active projects covering disaster prediction, healthcare, cultural preservation, and creative media, and it sits alongside two new graduate programs in AI and data science, AI literacy workshops, and free public lectures. The aim is to make the work transparent, accessible, and grounded in this place, with impact that starts in Hawaiʻi and carries beyond it.
